Cozumel Restaurants
Review
Cozumel restaurants with a traditional mouth watering menu!
As one of two great restaurants that
constitute La Cabaña del Pescador (The Cabin of the Fisherman); El
Guacamayo El Guacamayo—named after a tropical bird found throughout Mexico has a rustic setting by a lagoon and tropical gardens. The ducks here are shameless beggars and are sure to entertain you. Bread slices are given freely to guests to feed these feathered friends. Another great attraction are the "Iguana Trees"! No Joking! After dinner make sure to ask Arturo or Enrique to take the flashlight out and show you the very large emerald green and rust colored Iguanas that populate the trees around the lagoon. You will not believe how large they are or how many are in the trees. Every once in a while you will even here a big splash outside, but don't worry; Iguanas are excellent swimmers!
If you are looking for a Cozumel vacation
spot that will let you know that you are in authentic, traditional
Mexico; Guacamayo is a must!
Make sure to check out the daily specials as well.

PS: If anyone is interested in what Frommer's travel guide has to say about El Guacamayo, here is a quote from their review of La Cabaña del Pescador: "The thought I often have when I eat a prepared lobster dish is that the cook could have simply boiled the lobster to better effect. The owner of this restaurant (the Lobster House) seems to agree. The only item on the menu is lobster boiled with a hint of spices and served with melted butter, accompanied by sides of rice, vegetables, and bread. The weight of the lobster you select determines the price, with side dishes included. Candles and soft lights illuminate the inviting dining rooms set amid gardens, fountains, and a small duck pond -- muy romántico. The owner, Fernando, welcomes you warmly and will even send you next door to his brother's excellent Mexican seafood restaurant, El Guacamayo, if you must have something other than lobster."
I hope that you have the best vacation ever in Cozumel and enjoy the many attractions of a visit to El Guacamayo!
